Vehicle & Technical Data:Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM), Make, Model, Year, VIN, diagnostic fault codes, Part Numbers, and module technical specifications.
Hardware & Software Data: Internal microcontroller data, EEPROM dumps, flash memory files, and cryptographic vehicle identifiers strictly necessary to perform diagnostic testing, recovery, cloning, or programming.
2. Legal Basis & Purpose of Processing We process personal and technical data strictly for Fulfilling diagnostic and repair service contracts requested by you.

Data is only shared with essential technical infrastructure providers (courier networks like DPD/Royal Mail/DHL, secure payment processors, and hosting providers).
3. Important Service Disclaimers & Electronic Module Risks
3.1 Pre-Existing Component Deterioration & Heat Stress Electronic control units (ECUs, TCUs, BCMs) sent to us are frequently damaged by thermal cycling, liquid intrusion, internal component short-circuits, or prior unverified repair attempts. You acknowledge that: * Opening sealed cases, thermal inspection, micro-desoldering, and applying test voltages carry inherent risks to already compromised hardware.
We accept no liability if an internally degraded component fails entirely during standard diagnostic or read/write procedures.
3.2 Data Integrity & Software Recovery While bench data extraction and EEPROM cloning are executed with professional tools, data corruption or memory degradation within incoming hardware may prevent successful recovery. AXION Automotive does not warrant that corrupted data can be reconstructed or that incompatible donor units will function if incorrect donor parts are provided by the client.
3.3 Diagnostic & Bench Testing Fees Bench testing, pinout identification, disassembly, and diagnostic evaluation require workshop time and specialized equipment. Diagnostic and testing fees apply regardless of whether a module is deemed repairable, non-communicating, or beyond economical repair (BER).
3.4 Vehicle Coding & Installation Responsibility All modules repaired, cloned, or reset by AXION Automotive must be reinstalled by competent, certified automotive technicians. Unless bench testing specifically verifies plug-and-play status, subsequent vehicle-level adaptations, fault code clearing, or security handshakes on the target vehicle remain the responsibility of the installer.
4. Shipping, Packaging & Transit Risk Customers and trade partners are strictly responsible for securely packaging all modules sent via post or courier. AXION Automotive accepts no liability for hardware physically damaged, lost, or delayed in transit prior to delivery to our Didcot facility or following handover to third-party courier services for return transit.
5. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable UK law: AXION Automotive shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses, including loss of vehicle use, recovery charges, vehicle hire, garage labour costs, diagnostic fees incurred with third parties, or lost profits. * Our total aggregate liability arising out of any service, testing, or supply of parts shall strictly not exceed the total fee paid to us by the client for that specific repair or diagnostic service.
6. Data Retention & Your UK GDPR Rights Retention:Invoices and customer records are retained for statutory accounting periods (up to 6 years). Technical dump files and EEPROM backups created during bench work are held securely for diagnostic validation and purged periodically. Your Rights Under UK data protection laws, you have the right to request access to your personal data, rectify inaccuracies, request erasure, or restrict processing by contacting `support@axionautomotive.co.uk`.
