Control module repair
& vehicle diagnostics
ECU, TCU and body electronics testing, component-level repair and difficult electrical fault finding. Choose a service below, or tell us what the vehicle is doing and we will help you find the right assessment.
Workshop appointments in Didcot. UK-wide postal and remote support for suitable jobs.
Control module testing and repair
A warning or fault code does not establish that the module itself has failed. We check the reported fault, unit identity and available test route before agreeing work.
Engine ECU repair and cloning
Non-communicating units, damaged power supplies, output-driver faults and compatible donor cloning.
TCU and DSG electronics
Transmission controllers and mechatronic electronics, including lost gear selection and supported cloning.
BCM and BSI body modules
Lighting, locking and wiper concerns, water damage and body-control circuit faults.
FRM and SAM electronics
Footwell and signal-acquisition modules, communication faults and supported repair or data work.
ABS and ESP modules
Control-unit identification and electronic assessment for braking and stability-system faults.
Instrument clusters
Intermittent displays, lost communication, gauge concerns and dashboard electronics.
Electronic power steering
Steering warnings and electronic control faults. Vehicle and unit suitability checked before booking.
SRS and airbag modules
Module assessment and supported crash-data work. Restraint-system diagnosis and repair are separate requirements.
Module data recovery
Assess recoverable EEPROM and flash data from damaged or non-communicating electronics.
Component-level work can include failed electronic parts, damaged tracks, solder joints, power supplies and communication circuits. The unit and damage determine what can be repaired and verified.
Actuators, selectors and diesel electronics
Small electronic assemblies can cause major running or selection problems. These services cover electrical assessment and supported repair enquiries. A symptom or fault code alone does not establish which part has failed.
Electronic throttle bodies
Throttle warnings, erratic response and position-feedback concerns. Electrical checks help identify the right repair route.
Turbo actuator electronics
Boost-control warnings, reduced power and actuator feedback faults. Unit identity and test requirements checked first.
Electronic gear selectors
Park recognition, selection warnings and display faults. Assessment of supported selector electronics and related inputs.
Diesel pump and EDC electronics
Pump-control communication and electrical faults. We agree the electronic test scope before removal or posting.
Electrical, EV and hybrid diagnostics
Some faults need the complete vehicle to check wiring, power supplies and how the systems behave together. We confirm whether a workshop visit is needed before you arrange transport.
Complex electrical faults
Intermittent problems, warning lights and difficult faults that remain after earlier repairs.
CAN-bus and gateway faults
Missing modules, communication errors and faults that affect several vehicle systems.
Battery drain and no-start faults
A battery that goes flat after parking, no cranking or an intermittent starting fault.
EV and hybrid systems
Ready-mode problems, high-voltage warnings and power-electronics concerns on supported vehicles.
Charging and onboard chargers
Charging that fails to start, stops unexpectedly or behaves differently on AC and DC chargers.
Hybrid batteries and BMS
Battery-management warnings, reduced electric assistance and battery-system assessment.
Also explore inverters and DC-DC converters and vehicle wiring and electrical diagnosis.
Programming, coding and keys
Support across most vehicle brands, including BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Group, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, Renault, Jaguar, Land Rover and Tesla. The fitted module, software access and intended task determine the available route.
Module programming and coding
Replacement-unit setup, adaptations, coding and supported cloning. Check compatibility before buying a donor.
Keys and immobilisers
Key programming and immobiliser synchronisation enquiries for authorised owners and garages.
Calibration and file support
Discuss the vehicle, original software, intended change and validation requirements for suitable applications.
For Volkswagen Group jobs, supported remote ODIS technician sessions are £100 per hour. Send the scan report and equipment details so we can confirm the task before booking.
How to arrange an assessment
1. Send the fault details
Include the make, model, year and what happens. Add the full fault report and clear module-label photographs if available.
2. Agree the test route
We confirm the scope, charge and whether we need the vehicle or a removed module. Arrange postal work before sending anything.
3. Review the findings
We explain the repair options and any remaining checks. Additional work and its price are agreed before proceeding.
Turnaround depends on the fault, parts and testing required. Ask us to confirm the expected timescale, return delivery and applicable repair terms for your particular job.
Help for garages and vehicle owners
Garages can send measurements, scan reports, previous work and donor details through our trade support route. Owners can describe the symptoms in everyday language. You do not need a fault code to get in touch.
Looking for technical information? Use the vehicle and module finder, repair library or vehicle-specific guides. These help prepare an enquiry; assessment availability is confirmed for the exact unit.
Additional engineering capability
Our avionics, electronics and industrial engineering background also supports 3D printing, robotics and bespoke test enquiries. Discuss the application and practical requirements before quoting.
