An ABS or ESP message appearing at the same time as loss of engine power needs a complete vehicle assessment. The first dashboard warning does not necessarily identify the component that started the problem.
Vehicle-specific technical example
For the 307 CC 2.0 16V RFK, 2003–2009, HELLA describes an engine cut-out example involving a shared fused supply. A lambda-sensor heater is one possible source of a short, while other loads on the circuit must also be considered. Before arranging a module assessment
This example does not confirm failure of the ABS controller, BSI or engine ECU on another vehicle. Ask for the full scan and documented circuit findings. Repeated fuse replacement without finding the cause is not a substitute for diagnosis; do not increase a fuse rating to keep the vehicle running.
What to include in your enquiry
Record the order of warnings, whether the engine restarts, and any injector or oxygen-sensor codes. Include the engine code and recent exhaust, sensor or wiring work. If the engine cuts out unpredictably, arrange recovery rather than trying to reproduce the fault in traffic.
