A new communication record after sensor replacement needs the component identification and installation checked. It may be a different problem from the original emissions complaint.
Preserve both fault reports
Keep the old and new part numbers, sensor location and programming or setup log. Do not assume sensors at different positions are interchangeable because their connectors look similar. Record whether the new unit can be identified by the supported diagnostic tool.
The workshop should assess compatibility, connections and the relevant communication circuit before ordering an engine ECU. Avoid repeated software attempts without understanding the error. An enquiry should explain what changed after installation and what remains of the original symptom, so two different faults are not combined into one unsupported conclusion.
