A loose, cracked or visibly heat-affected charging inlet should be assessed before further use. Do not hold a connector in place, alter the latch or continue charging to see whether the damage gets worse. The vehicle handbook and charging provider’s instructions take priority.
Useful external observations
Describe what you can see without touching internal contacts or removing covers. Include a clear external photograph, whether a cable remains attached and any displayed warning. Note an impact, trapped cable or difficult disconnection if one occurred, without assuming it explains all damage.
Establish the repair scope
An inlet assembly can involve more than its visible socket. The workshop needs the exact vehicle version and diagnostic evidence to determine the required parts and procedures. Ask whether the quotation covers the associated inspection, configuration where required and final charging checks.

A photograph can help plan an inspection, but it cannot certify the electrical safety of the inlet or confirm the full extent of damage.
