A hybrid warning can appear alongside an engine-system problem because the two propulsion systems interact. After exhaust or emissions work, keep the engine and hybrid scan results together rather than treating the most prominent dashboard message as the root cause.
Identify what changed
List replaced parts, disconnected sensors, software work and any adaptation procedures documented by the repairing garage. Record whether the vehicle was tested successfully before collection and how far it travelled before the warning returned.
The next assessment should use manufacturer information and checks relevant to the actual codes. A generic hybrid warning does not establish an inverter or battery failure. Ask the original repairer for its before-and-after report and provide it with any specialist enquiry. Avoid removing or disabling emissions equipment to suppress the message. If the vehicle loses normal drive or displays a stop instruction, follow the owner’s guidance and arrange suitable recovery rather than continuing to test it on the road.
