Give the workshop the full history
Describe approximate water depth, duration and whether the engine or vehicle stopped. Include other symptoms such as charging warnings, communication faults or unusual noises. Tell the recovery operator about water exposure, especially for an EV or hybrid.
Do not keep restarting or driving a vehicle with unreliable steering to see whether it dries out. The repairer should consider vehicle-side causes alongside any module assessment, because repairing a controller without addressing the exposure path can leave the fault unresolved. Ask what inspection is appropriate before removal. Keep the original module and scan results available, and avoid using heat or spray products as an improvised repair.
