A silent fan is not automatically faulty when the system has not requested it. Conversely, a successful commanded test does not establish that all normal control conditions are correct.
Define the test state
Record vehicle temperature, charging activity and any supported command or feedback. The technician should know when the manufacturer’s strategy expects fan operation. Do not place hands near a fan because it appears inactive.
For an enquiry, explain the original overheating or cooling complaint rather than only the lack of sound during one inspection. The assessment should distinguish an absent request, a failed response and normal inactivity, using vehicle-specific criteria and suitable verification of the relevant operating condition.
