Some electronic components normally dissipate heat. A thermal image shows temperature distribution under the observed conditions, not a complete explanation of why the module fails.
Preserve the operating context
Record supply conditions, elapsed powered time and what functions were active. A specialist should compare the circuit’s intended behaviour and supporting electrical evidence. Do not heat or cool a board aggressively to make an image more dramatic.
If a hotspot is relevant, the report should explain how it relates to the symptom and surrounding circuit. Replacing the warmest part without diagnosis can miss a connected load or upstream cause. External visual evidence and vehicle tests should accompany any internal component assessment.
