Preserve the evidence
Photograph accessible external damage without opening unfamiliar assemblies. Include recent washing, flooding, fluid leaks or repairs as factual context. A connector that looks dry later may not describe its earlier condition, so keep the first garage report.
Find the entry route as well as the damage
The repair plan should address how the contamination reached the area and which circuits were affected. Replacing a TCU without resolving an entry path can leave the underlying problem. The extent of damage cannot be established from a single photograph.
