After rear-pad replacement, a parking-brake warning should be referred back with details of the service procedure used. The new pads and the control system must be assessed together; simply clearing the warning does not show that the brake operates correctly.

Keep the scan, any service-mode messages and the parts fitted. Tell the workshop whether the brake applied and released normally immediately after the work or failed only later. Include any unusual noise, heat or resistance to movement.
The correct completion or adjustment steps vary by vehicle. Do not repeat an unfamiliar reset routine or manually wind a mechanism without the applicable instructions. A qualified repairer should verify the mechanical installation and system operation before concluding that a controller needs repair. If a brake is dragging or the vehicle will not stay securely parked, stop using it and obtain advice about safe recovery rather than attempting another journey.
