A parking brake that appears to release unevenly needs a brake-system assessment before normal use. One motor making a sound does not prove that either side has applied or released correctly. Avoid driving against a suspected dragging brake.
Describe what was observed
Record the warning wording, which side seems affected and whether the problem began after rear-brake work. Give the workshop any service-mode or diagnostic information from that repair. Different parking-brake designs use different mechanical and electrical arrangements.
Do not apply direct power to an actuator or force a mechanism using an internet procedure for another model. Ask the repairer to explain how electrical checks, mechanical inspection and the correct service procedure fit together. HELLA’s parking-brake overview describes differing designs. If the vehicle cannot be securely parked or safely released, tell the recovery operator about the parking-brake fault before transport is arranged.
