Porsche Taycan onboard-charger identification before a repair quote

Before asking for a Taycan onboard-charger quote, establish which charging hardware is fitted. The power displayed during one charging session is not a dependable part identifier.

Why the option information matters

Porsche technical information 26/25 concerns the optional 22 kW onboard charger on specified 2020–2024 Taycan vehicles. The US document explains that the same option may appear as 19.2 kW in its market records and discusses a defined warranty extension. It is not evidence of UK cover for your car.

Ask Porsche to check the VIN for the fitted option, any applicable campaign and current cover before arranging independent paid work. Keep the answer with the repair history so the next workshop does not have to reconstruct it from an advert or an old specification sheet.

Describe the fault separately from charging speed

Tell us whether charging fails entirely, stops intermittently or simply runs below the rate you expected. State whether the session was AC or DC and provide the charger operator’s record where available. Include the battery percentage and any warning shown at the time.

Do not describe a unit as failed solely because a public charger delivered less power than its advertised maximum. An actual fault report and the circumstances of the session are needed before deciding what to investigate.

Information for an assessment enquiry

  • Model year and exact Taycan version.
  • Fitted onboard-charger option, if confirmed by the manufacturer.
  • Full scan report and dashboard message.
  • Previous charging-unit, inlet or software work, with dates.
  • Results of any inspection already completed by a workshop.

AXION will need to confirm the specific assessment route and supported unit before a booking or dispatch. Ask whether the complete vehicle is required and how any additional diagnosis would be authorised.

Do not remove high-voltage charging equipment to obtain a part number. Use existing records or have identification performed safely by the responsible technician. This guide helps prepare an enquiry; it does not prescribe a Taycan charger repair or establish an entitlement to manufacturer cover.

Sources and next steps

Send AXION your vehicle and fault details or choose an assessment. Workshop appointments are in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal module work is available by arrangement for UK enquiries. Confirm acceptance before dispatch.
