The absence of an obvious sound change does not prove that a recirculation flap failed. Different systems control recirculation differently, and automatic operation may depend on conditions.
Compare request and actual effect
Record whether the indicator responds, whether demisting mode is selected and whether the behaviour matches the manual. Mention odours, airflow changes and any clicking. Do not block intake openings to make a test more obvious.
A technician should check the relevant commands and mechanism using the correct system information. If the complaint concerns persistent fumes or poor visibility, explain that directly rather than only the button noise. The assessment should establish whether the issue is normal operating logic, a missing request or inability of the mechanism to reach its position.
