A fuel-pressure code can appear in a vehicle with poor running, reduced power or a starting problem. It identifies a condition for investigation. It does not establish that the engine ECU, fuel pump or pressure sensor should be replaced. The vehicle-specific diagnostic procedure and test evidence matter.
What these codes describe
P0087 concerns fuel rail or system pressure below the expected level. P0088 concerns pressure above the expected level. P0191 concerns the range or performance of the fuel-rail pressure-sensor circuit. Preserve any manufacturer suffix and the exact wording from the scan. Separate the warning from the cause
Pressure regulation, fuel delivery and electrical control are related but distinct areas. An electrical workshop needs to know what the vehicle reported and what has already been measured. A replacement decision should follow the appropriate checks, not the name of a code.

What to send with your enquiry
Include the engine and fuel type, mileage, all codes, fault status and saved freeze-frame data. Describe whether the event happened at cold start, during acceleration or after the engine warmed up. Attach existing workshop test results with units and test conditions, plus details of replaced parts and any wiring work.
If someone suspects the ECU, ask them to include the evidence supporting that conclusion. Keep the original module and do not buy a donor before compatibility is checked. Do not loosen fuel pipes or probe a running high-pressure system to investigate a warning.
