Start with diagnosis

An electrical fault can come from wiring, a power supply, a sensor or a control module. We start with what the car is doing and the checks already completed, then discuss the investigation needed before parts are replaced.

This service is for vehicle electrical enquiries. Customers elsewhere in the UK can discuss the fault with us, but full-vehicle diagnostic work requires an agreed workshop or other suitable arrangement.

Fault information to include

  • Whether it happens when starting, driving or charging, after rain, or after the vehicle has been standing.
  • Which lights, instruments or electrical functions are affected.
  • Exact diagnostic trouble codes and the complete scan report.
  • Any battery drain measurements or previous diagnostic findings.
  • Recent battery, wiring, accessory or module work.
  • Whether the vehicle starts and drives, and where it is located.

Areas we can discuss

Power and wiring

Investigation of reported supply, connection and wiring faults using the vehicle symptoms and diagnostic findings.

Communication faults

Assessment of module communication concerns and the wider vehicle network context.

Intermittent problems

Tell us how often the fault occurs and what conditions reproduce it. Photographs and a clear symptom log can help explain the issue.

Arrange a diagnostic appointment

Contact us with the details above. Explain if recovery is required, and confirm the proposed assessment and appointment before travelling. Diagnostic time and repair scope depend on the fault and the evidence available.

Does a fault code identify the failed part?

A code is a starting point for investigation. Further checks may be needed to establish the cause before replacing a component.

Should I remove a module first?

Ask before removal. Some faults need testing on the complete vehicle. If a module assessment is appropriate, we will discuss what to send.

What happens after diagnosis?

The findings guide the next step, which may involve wiring or component repair, further investigation, or a related control-module service.
