ECU repair and cloning services

We assess each unit on the bench before recommending the right route. Where a repair is viable, we target the failed component and test the unit. Where the original is beyond repair, we can transfer compatible data to a suitable donor ECU.

  • Component-level ECU repair – power-supply faults, injector or ignition drivers, CAN communication faults, water damage and damaged tracks.
  • ECU cloning – compatible flash, EEPROM and calibration data transfer to a donor unit, subject to a successful assessment.
  • Data recovery – controlled extraction from damaged or non-communicating modules where technically possible.
  • Workshop support – clear reporting and practical next steps for independent garages and auto electricians.

Common ECU symptoms we investigate

  • Engine cranks but does not start
  • No communication with the engine ECU
  • Persistent injector, ignition, throttle or actuator fault codes
  • Missing 5V reference supply or multiple unrelated sensor faults
  • Water ingress, corrosion or visible heat damage
  • Immobiliser synchronisation or donor-unit compatibility issues

Symptoms alone do not prove the ECU is faulty. Please include the vehicle registration, ECU part number, diagnostic trouble codes, vehicle symptoms and any tests already carried out.

How the repair process works

  1. Request a quote. Send vehicle details, fault codes and ECU part number through our contact form or WhatsApp.
  2. Send or drop off the module. Pack the ECU securely and use an insured, tracked delivery service.
  3. Bench diagnosis. We inspect the unit, test power and communication circuits, and confirm the appropriate repair or cloning route.
  4. Approval before work. We explain the recommended work and price before proceeding.
  5. Repair, verification and return. Completed units are checked before return by tracked delivery or collection.

Frequently asked questions

Can you repair an ECU with no communication?
Often, yes. Some units can be accessed directly on the bench even when vehicle diagnostics cannot communicate. The outcome depends on the damage and the module type.

How long does ECU repair take?
Turnaround depends on the fault, parts availability and testing requirements. We confirm the expected timescale after diagnosis.

What if the ECU cannot be repaired?
We explain the findings and available options. No repair work proceeds without your approval.
