A recurring DPF warning after a sensor replacement raises an important question: was the original cause established, or was a part changed because its name appeared in the scan? Save the first diagnostic report and the result after repair. Those records are more useful than repeatedly clearing the warning.
What the pressure sensor measures
Delphi describes a differential-pressure sensor connected across the diesel particulate filter through pressure hoses, with an electrical connection to the controller. The pressure path and electrical path are different parts of the system. A sensor-related warning needs the exact wording and the appropriate checks; it is not equivalent to a confirmed blocked filter, failed sensor or faulty ECU.
Preserve the complete warning
Send the actual code and any manufacturer suffix rather than relying on a generic label copied from a forum. Explain whether the message mentions circuit, plausibility, pressure or filter loading. Include the engine identification and the diagnostic tool’s report.
What happened before the warning returned?
List sensor changes, hose work, filter cleaning, regeneration attempts and software work, with dates. If the workshop recorded differential pressure, retain the units and operating conditions. State whether the warning returned at the first start or only after normal driving.
Ask the workshop which measurements support its conclusion and whether any required vehicle-specific setup was completed after replacement. Do not request repeated forced regenerations simply to remove a warning; the technician must first establish whether the procedure is appropriate.
