Instrument Cluster & Dashboard Electronics

Discuss display faults, intermittent instrument behaviour and dashboard electronics with AXION Automotive in Didcot.

Discuss your module or fault

Identify what the driver is seeing

A clear description of the fault is the best starting point. Tell us whether the display is blank, flickers, loses information, resets or behaves differently as the vehicle warms up. Include photographs or a short video of the symptom if you already have one, together with the vehicle details and a complete scan report.

AXION Automotive handles enquiries about vehicle control electronics and complex electrical problems. Instrument-cluster suitability is assessed for the exact unit and reported fault before repair work or postal assessment is agreed.

What to include in your enquiry

  • Vehicle make, model, year, registration and powertrain.
  • A clear description of what works and what stops working.
  • Part numbers and label photographs if the cluster has already been identified by your workshop.
  • Diagnostic fault codes with descriptions and details of other affected systems.
  • When the problem occurs, including any link to temperature or recent vehicle work.
  • Previous repairs, replacement clusters, water ingress or programming attempts.

Module fault or vehicle-side problem?

Do not assume that every dashboard warning or unusual gauge reading means the cluster itself has failed. Describe the full vehicle symptoms and checks already completed. If the problem depends on connected systems or vehicle wiring, an appointment involving the complete vehicle may be more useful than sending the cluster alone.

For intermittent faults, explain how often they occur and how long they last. Keep any diagnostic reports or evidence captured while the fault is present; a symptom that cannot be reproduced needs a different assessment discussion from a permanent failure.

Before fitting a replacement cluster

Keep the original unit and send photographs of both labels before purchasing or fitting a donor. Compatibility, vehicle configuration and any supported programming requirements should be checked for the actual job. Tell us why a replacement is being considered and whether the original still communicates.

Keep the vehicle’s mileage and replacement history accurately documented. Any work involving stored vehicle data must be discussed as part of the legitimate repair and recorded appropriately.

Arrange the right assessment

Contact us first to confirm whether the complete vehicle or a removed module is required. For suitable postal assessment, wait for confirmation of the item, packaging and job reference before dispatch. For a Didcot appointment, tell us whether the vehicle can be brought to the workshop.

Assessment findings determine the proposed repair, quotation and next step. Ask us to confirm any installation, coding or vehicle checks required after the work. Do not rely on a module repair alone to resolve unrelated warning messages or vehicle faults.

Supporting garages and owners

We welcome enquiries from local owners and UK garages. Trade enquiries should include one workshop contact, the diagnostic evidence and a job reference. Our trade support guide explains how to prepare the information.
