VAG code 00446 indicates that a function has been restricted because of insufficient voltage. The code identifies the recorded condition, but further checks are needed to establish why the supply was inadequate and whether the problem is still present.
Separate a past event from a current fault
Record whether the car recently had a flat battery, prolonged storage or starting difficulties. Save the scan before clearing anything. A warning that returns with a correctly operating supply needs a different investigation from a historic entry left by an earlier discharge.

Build the voltage history
- When did the first warning appear, and what stopped working?
- Was the battery tested rather than simply recharged?
- Do several modules record the same event?
- Are there existing findings for charging, connections or overnight discharge?
The voltage at a battery terminal and the supply reaching an affected module are not always the same under load. A documented vehicle-side investigation makes a later electronics assessment much more useful.
Before asking for several replacement modules
A collection of warning lights is not proof that several controllers failed simultaneously. Establish the common supply history first, then investigate any remaining repeatable faults. Keep all original module identification and coding records.
