A hybrid warning does not automatically mean the traction battery has failed. A published Toyota Auris investigation by Steve Smith at Pico Technology is a useful example of why the complete code and the actual circuit behaviour matter. This is a review of that external case, not an AXION customer repair.
What the published investigation found
The Auris stored P0A82-123 for hybrid battery cooling-fan performance. The additional INF code helped establish the fault’s occurrence order. The fan was running continuously at high speed. Scope testing showed the command signal held at ground, and the investigation traced a short to a mounting bolt for added equipment. Repairing the wiring restored the fan-control operation. The lesson for a different vehicle
That finding belongs to one car. It is not evidence that every P0A82 needs the same wiring repair, or that a noisy cooling fan can be ignored. The transferable lesson is to preserve the additional code information and test the relevant control path before choosing parts.
For an enquiry, describe the fan noise, when the warning appears and whether any interior equipment or trim has recently been fitted. Send the full hybrid-system report, including INF or detail codes where the tool provides them. A generic reader may not show every field available to a vehicle-specific diagnostic system.

Access around a hybrid battery can involve high-voltage hazards even when the suspected fault is in a control circuit. Do not open the battery enclosure or copy isolation steps from an article; the correct vehicle procedure and qualified personnel are required.
