Loss of the instrument display while propulsion continues needs prompt assessment because important speed and warning information may be unavailable. The running engine does not prove that the cluster’s supply or communications are healthy.
Record the extent of the loss
Note whether backlighting, warning lamps and audible alerts also disappear. Include recent dashboard, battery or accessory work and whether the screen returns after stopping. Do not drive while trying to film the event.
Arrange safe transport if essential information is missing. The workshop should assess the relevant supply and network alongside the cluster. A report describing exactly what remained active is more useful than calling the whole vehicle electrically dead or ordering a replacement display without checks.
