Inverter and DC-DC converter diagnostics

If a garage suspects an inverter or DC-DC converter, send the diagnosis and the reason for it before ordering a unit. AXION accepts enquiries for supported EV and hybrid power-electronics faults, including related warnings, communication problems and power-supply concerns.

A useful enquiry starts with the evidence

Include the exact vehicle and the complete diagnostic report. Preserve the original wording of each warning and say which control unit reported the code. A photograph of an accessible component label can help, but it is not a reason to remove covers or disconnect high-voltage equipment.

Tell us whether the concern appeared while driving, starting, charging or after a previous repair. If a replacement unit has already been fitted, include both part numbers and any programming carried out. Keep the original unit until the assessment route has been agreed.

What you are booking

Inverter and DC-DC enquiries begin with an assessment of the reported fault on a supported vehicle. This helps establish what further investigation or repair proposal is appropriate. It does not assume the named component is the cause simply because it appears in a scan report.

The booking service covers initial investigation. Component replacement, high-voltage work and additional programming are agreed separately. Check current starting prices and describe the fault before selecting an appointment.

Vehicle or removed component

Expect the vehicle to be required unless we have specifically agreed another arrangement. A removed component does not provide all the evidence available from the vehicle. Contact AXION before dismantling, purchasing a donor or sending anything by post.

For garages, include checks already completed and the conditions under which they were made. State what you need us to establish, rather than sending an unexplained list of fault codes.

High-voltage equipment requires vehicle-specific precautions and suitable competence. The HSE explains these risks. Follow the vehicle’s warnings and agree recovery arrangements if it cannot be driven safely.
