Several warning lights, modules missing from a scan or a fault that moves between systems can make diagnosis confusing. AXION offers an initial vehicle-network assessment for supported communication faults, including CAN-bus and gateway concerns.
Send the whole scan
A report showing which systems do communicate can be as useful as a list of the ones that do not. Keep the complete scan, the date it was taken and the vehicle conditions. If the symptoms are intermittent, explain what was happening when the report was captured.
- Record the exact code, wording and control unit that reported it.
- Say whether the engine starts and which functions are affected.
- Include recent battery work, water ingress, accessory installation or module replacement.
- For garages, include relevant checks already performed and their measured results.
Do not clear codes just to prepare an enquiry. An existing before-and-after report is more useful than an unexplained screenshot of one code.
Diagnosis before replacement
Lost communication is a finding to investigate. It does not by itself confirm that the named controller needs repair. We discuss the vehicle’s symptoms and the work already completed before agreeing the next assessment.
CAN-Bus, Gateway & Communication Diagnostics is available in the appointment service list. The starting assessment is not unlimited wiring tracing. Extended investigation, replacement modules and programming are quoted separately when required.
Choosing the right repair route
Network faults generally need the complete vehicle because connections and interactions between systems matter. If your garage has isolated a particular module, send the supporting findings so we can consider whether a postal assessment is appropriate. Please wait for confirmation before removing or sending a gateway.
Workshop visits are arranged at AXION Automotive in Didcot. Garages elsewhere in the UK can use our trade support route to discuss an existing diagnosis and the next step.
Keep useful information together
Use the vehicle and module finder to choose the vehicle, search a code and build an enquiry summary. You can carry that summary into the website contact form and review it before sending.
