P2015 intake-runner position faults after manifold work

P2015 concerns intake-manifold runner or flap position plausibility. The VAG reference from Ross-Tech includes the mechanism, its actuator, wiring and application-specific software issues. It is important to identify the engine before choosing between those routes.

What the position feedback proves

The controller needs to know whether the mechanism reached the expected position. A signal outside its expected behaviour can result from the feedback path or the mechanism it is measuring. An electrical diagnosis should therefore be linked to an inspection of the actual movement.

If the problem began after a manifold or actuator replacement, record both part numbers and the basic-setting result. A universal repair bracket or adaptation instruction found online may not apply to this assembly. Avoid altering mechanical stops without the correct repair procedure.

Do not assume a software fix

Some references discuss particular ECU versions, engines or markets. They do not mean that every P2015 needs programming. Ask the garage to identify the relevant bulletin and show that the vehicle falls within its scope before an update is proposed.

For AXION, include the complete scan, engine code and findings from the mechanism and circuit. This helps us decide whether electrical diagnosis, supported software work or a different repair route is appropriate. Retain the original module while compatibility and the reason for replacement are checked.

Arrange an assessment

For ECU testing and repair, send the vehicle details and fault report to AXION. We support enquiries from drivers and garages. Workshop, postal and remote options depend on the job and are confirmed before booking.

Technical reference

Read the supporting technical documentation. The referenced design or vehicle application defines its scope; it is not a universal repair procedure.
