03041 energy management active when comfort functions switch off

03041 records active energy management in the VAG reference. Ross-Tech describes electrical functions being restricted when the system is conserving power and points to battery condition or excessive parked current as possible underlying issues. The controller storing the code is not automatically defective.

Note which functions return after starting

Record the timing of disabled infotainment, interior lighting, window or seat functions. If they return when the engine runs, that observation belongs in the enquiry. It does not by itself prove that the battery is healthy or identify why energy management intervened.

Bring the battery test and charging history, including repeated short journeys, jump-starts and recent electrical accessories. State how long the vehicle was parked before the symptom appeared.

Investigate the reason for the restriction

A new battery can change the symptom while leaving an excessive parked load unresolved. Equally, a stored record from a known flat-battery event should not be treated as proof of a current drain without testing.

AXION can discuss battery-management and electrical assessment using that history. Avoid replacing several comfort modules because their functions stopped together. The useful repair decision comes from understanding the power-management event and verifying the relevant battery, supply and sleep behaviour under appropriate conditions.

Arrange an assessment

For complex electrical and network diagnostics, send the vehicle details and fault report to AXION. We support enquiries from drivers and garages. Workshop, postal and remote options depend on the job and are confirmed before booking.
