Matching EEPROM reads do not prove the vehicle data is correct

Two identical reads support repeatability of the reading process. They do not establish that the stored configuration belongs to the vehicle or that its contents are logically valid.

What to check next

Compare the symptom history, module identity and authorised configuration information. Keep read verification separate from application checks such as coding, adaptations and supported security pairing. A repair can require more than reproducing an existing file accurately.

A Lucas 14CUX ECU circuit board. Reading data consistently and confirming that it belongs to the vehicle are separate checks.

Useful information for an enquiry

Include whether the fault followed a donor-module fitment, previous clone or programming attempt.

Data belonging to another vehicle should not be treated as a universal replacement. Compatibility and ownership requirements still apply.
