Practical engineering for difficult automotive problems
AXION brings together automotive electronics, module repair, programming, 3D printing and robotics knowledge. When a fault needs a more involved test, a replacement part is difficult to obtain or a component needs a better fit, we can assess the engineering options with you.
Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, we support vehicle owners, independent garages and trade customers. Workshop, postal and remote arrangements depend on the vehicle, component and work required.

3D printing for hard-to-find parts and better fit
A small broken cover, missing holder or awkward mounting point can hold up a much larger job. Our 3D-printing capability gives us a way to assess replacement and custom-fit parts when a suitable off-the-shelf option is difficult to find.
Enquiries can include non-safety-critical covers, clips, holders, enclosures, mounting aids, prototypes and workshop test fixtures. Send a photograph of the original part, its purpose, approximate dimensions and the area where it fits. If you have a drawing or CAD file, mention it in your enquiry so we can agree how to receive it.
We consider how the part will be used, the available space, fixing points, heat, moisture and mechanical load before recommending a route. A trial fit may be needed before the final design is agreed. A printed prototype is not automatically a road-use replacement for a structural, braking, steering, restraint or high-voltage safety component.
Test engineering that follows the fault
A fault code is a starting point. Good test work connects the symptom to the circuit, the module and the conditions in which the problem appears. Our engineering approach focuses on making checks useful and repeatable.
Depending on the job, the assessment can cover power supplies and grounds, current draw, sensor inputs, actuator outputs, wiring integrity and CAN or LIN communication. For a removed module, we agree what can be tested on the bench and which functions still need the vehicle.
Custom fixtures and test connections can help hold a component securely, reproduce an agreed operating condition or make repeated measurements more consistent. The test scope and any limits are discussed alongside the repair or development work.
Robotics, control systems and practical development
Robotics and control-electronics knowledge are part of AXION’s engineering capability. We welcome enquiries involving sensors, actuators, control boards, wiring, communication faults and the fixtures needed to investigate them.
A project may need an electronics assessment, a mechanical mounting solution, a printed prototype or a combination of these. Tell us what the system should do, what it does instead and whether it is a one-off repair, a prototype or a repeat testing task. We review the requirements before agreeing the deliverables.
Programming across vehicle brands
Our programming and coding work extends across most vehicle brands, including BMW and MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Nissan, Renault, Jaguar, Land Rover and Tesla, alongside Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA and Škoda. Enquiries also include Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo and Porsche.
Replacement-module setup, coding, adaptation, supported cloning and software work depend on the vehicle generation, module identity and the task. We check those details before booking. Remote assistance is available for suitable jobs with the necessary vehicle connection, stable power supply and approved access.
The right diagnostic route for the vehicle
Manufacturer systems differ. Examples include BMW ISTA, Mercedes-Benz XENTRY, Mazda IDS and MDARS, Nissan CONSULT, Renault CLIP and ADT, JLR TOPIx Cloud Diagnostics and SDD, and Tesla Toolbox. We also offer ODIS programming enquiries for Volkswagen Group vehicles.
These are manufacturer platform names, not a promise that every function is available on every vehicle. We confirm the appropriate tool, compatibility and any required permissions for the particular job. AXION is an independent business; manufacturer names identify the vehicles and systems involved.
From an initial problem to an agreed result
1. Describe the job. Send vehicle or equipment details, symptoms, fault codes and clear photographs. For a physical part, include dimensions and explain its function.
2. Set the scope. We agree whether the work needs an on-vehicle assessment, bench testing, design work, a prototype or a remote session, and explain the charges.
3. Review the findings. The next stage may be repair, programming, a revised part design or further testing. We discuss the options before additional work.
4. Confirm the handover. We explain the work carried out, relevant test results and any fitting or on-vehicle checks still required.
