Battery drain and no-start electrical diagnostics

A car that is flat after parking needs a different starting point from one that has power but will not crank. Describe exactly what happens when you try to use it. AXION accepts battery-drain, supply and no-start electrical assessment enquiries at our Didcot workshop.

Tell us what the car does

For a starting problem, say whether the starter turns the engine, whether there is only a click or whether the dashboard stays dark. For an EV or hybrid, tell us whether it enters READY. Include the messages you see rather than guessing which module has failed.

For a drain concern, explain roughly how long the vehicle can stand before the problem appears. Mention any recently installed accessories, battery replacement, charging work, water ingress or previous repairs. An intermittent pattern is useful information even when the car behaves normally at the appointment.

What to bring to the assessment

  • Vehicle make, model, year and the exact symptom.
  • Existing fault-code and battery-test reports, if available.
  • Dates of battery replacement and recent electrical work.
  • Details of added dashcams, trackers or other accessories.

You do not need to disconnect batteries or pull fuses to prepare this information. Send existing results and leave further testing to the agreed assessment.

Initial assessment and longer monitoring

Our Battery Drain & No-Start Electrical Assessment begins with the reported concern and the available evidence. Intermittent faults may require additional monitoring, which is discussed separately. A starting appointment price does not include unlimited diagnostic time or replacement parts.

See the current booking details. Batteries, starters, alternators and any further repair work require an agreed quote. The assessment does not assume replacing the battery will resolve every flat-battery complaint.

Arrange the visit before travelling

Contact the workshop if the car cannot be moved normally. Tell us about any recovery needs before booking transport. Keep previous reports with the vehicle so the investigation can build on work already done.

For faults involving several missing modules, see our CAN-bus and gateway assessment. For a charging warning on an EV, use the charging diagnostics service.
