01400 suspension level-control faults and compressor overheating

01400 can describe different suspension level-control failures. Ross-Tech distinguishes a control limit not being reached from an upper limit being exceeded. The former can involve leaks or temperature shutdown; the latter can involve the valve system. The full wording changes the investigation.

Describe the car’s actual position

Record which corner or axle is low or high, whether it changes while parked and whether the compressor runs repeatedly. Include the time between parking and the height change. These observations help the workshop connect the warning to system behaviour.

Repeatedly commanding the system to raise the car is not a repair for a leak or failed valve. It can also obscure the point at which protective shutdown occurred. Keep the first scan and operating history.

Separate control electronics from air-system work

A module can report failure to reach a target without being the failed component. The assessment should explain the pressure, leak, valve or electrical evidence behind any proposed part replacement.

AXION can discuss the electrical side of supported suspension enquiries and identify when further mechanical or pneumatic assessment is needed. Do not work beneath a vehicle supported only by its air suspension. If ride height is unsafe, arrange recovery or professional advice before moving the vehicle.

Arrange an assessment

For complex electrical and network diagnostics, send the vehicle details and fault report to AXION. We support enquiries from drivers and garages. Workshop, postal and remote options depend on the job and are confirmed before booking.
