An average duty-cycle value can change on a digital sensor without directly representing pressure, position or temperature. Applying the wrong signal model can lead to a convincing but incorrect diagnosis.
How to narrow it down
Establish the interface from the wiring and component information, then use an appropriate decoder. Compare the interpreted measurement with vehicle live data and a plausible reference condition. A multimeter reading may help identify a missing supply, but it cannot replace message interpretation.
What to include with the fault report
Send the vehicle details, sensor number and the conditions under which the reading looked wrong.
Avoid translating a measured percentage into a physical value unless the component specification explicitly defines that relationship.
Speak to AXION
For complex vehicle-electronics diagnostics, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
