Fault-code directory · ECU and electrical assessment
If the air conditioning stops cooling and the compressor is not being requested, the controller may be responding to an unreliable pressure reading. That is different from proving that the compressor itself has failed. Start with the pressure information and the reason operation is being inhibited.
Codes covered
P0530 · P0531 · P0532 · P0533
P0530–P0533 concern the refrigerant-pressure signal circuit, range or low and high signal conditions. A low electrical signal is not the same measurement as low refrigerant quantity. The system may disable operation when it cannot trust the pressure input.

Evidence that helps narrow the fault
- Record pressure data, ambient temperature and compressor request or inhibit information. The available parameters vary by vehicle.
- Inspect the pressure-sensor connector and wiring, including damage after front-end or cooling-system work. Check the correct supply, ground and signal paths.
- Where refrigerant pressure needs independent confirmation, use a suitably qualified air-conditioning technician. Do not release refrigerant or bypass a pressure protection device to test the compressor.
Choosing the next repair step
A pressure sensor, a wiring fault, an actual refrigerant problem and a separate compressor fault require different repairs. On an EV or hybrid, the compressor may also be a high-voltage component and may support battery thermal management. That makes correct system identification essential before work starts.
Does a regas fix a pressure sensor circuit warning?
Not if the underlying problem is electrical. Refrigerant servicing should follow evidence about the refrigerant system; circuit diagnosis should establish why the controller is receiving the wrong signal.
Talk through the fault with AXION
Send the make, model, year, full scan report and a short description of when the fault happens. Include recent repairs or programming attempts. If you do not have a scan, describe the symptoms in your own words.
Workshop assessments are arranged by appointment in Didcot, Oxfordshire. UK-wide postal module testing and remote support are available for suitable work after compatibility and scope are agreed. Please contact us before removing or posting a module.
