Battery current-sensor range can matter during a brief high-load event

A current measurement has a defined operating range. A reading at a limit can represent a genuine high current, an exceeded measurement range or another signal problem.

Interpreting the evidence

Correlate the reading with the vehicle event and diagnostic status. A qualified assessment should compare the sensor specification and recorded data rather than treating a flat maximum value as a precise measurement. Preserve the events just before and after the limit is reached.

Keep this evidence

Include the original data file, current units and the driving or charging condition.

Do not provoke repeated high-load events to reproduce a battery warning. Follow the vehicle’s guidance and arrange a suitable assessment.
