CAN FD transport settings must agree with the diagnostic link

Using CAN FD changes the available frame format, but it does not remove the need for a compatible diagnostic transport configuration. Physical bus activity alone cannot confirm that agreement.

What to check next

Check the vehicle’s supported link type, tool configuration and captured frame lengths. Compare the failure with a known supported operation on the same setup. This helps distinguish a transport mismatch from a wiring or ECU defect.

Useful information for an enquiry

Send the adapter model, link settings and raw frame metadata.

Do not switch a live network to an assumed faster mode. The entire supported interface and vehicle segment must be compatible.

Speak to AXION

For CAN-bus and vehicle-network diagnostics, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
