A reversing alarm activating unexpectedly should be assessed with the actual selector and reverse-signal arrangement. Aftermarket alarms may have separate installation details from factory systems.
Record the trigger accurately
State which gear is displayed, whether reversing lamps also illuminate and whether a camera activates. Include recent gearbox, body or accessory work. Do not disconnect the warning equipment as a permanent fix.
The technician should determine whether the alarm receives an incorrect command or behaves incorrectly with a valid input. If the fault affects safe manoeuvring or gear recognition, arrange assessment before normal operation. Equipment details and simultaneous lamp behaviour help narrow the circuit without guessing that the TCU or BCM is defective.
