Corrosion at a connector can affect a circuit even when the module housing appears dry. The condition of terminals, seals and the surrounding harness matters. A clean-looking exterior does not rule out a connection problem under load or movement.
Document before cleaning
Where safe and already accessible to a technician, photographs should show the connector identification and affected terminals. Owners should avoid unplugging unfamiliar safety-related or high-voltage connections. Record water exposure, previous repairs and whether the fault changes with weather.
Spraying a connector and seeing temporary improvement does not establish a durable repair. The workshop should assess terminal condition and follow the appropriate repair method, including the source of moisture. Provide any test results with the enquiry and distinguish connector work from internal module work. If a unit is sent for assessment, tell the specialist about the connector findings so the bench result is interpreted alongside the vehicle-side evidence.
