A current measurement system has its own response limits. A slow or unsuitable measurement can smooth a brief event that matters to solenoid operation.

How to narrow it down

Check the instrument, probe and filtering used before interpreting the shape of a current trace. Preserve the raw capture and compare it with the timing of the command. A missing feature on a heavily filtered display should not be used as sole evidence of a failed valve or driver.

What to include with the fault report

Send the probe model, range and filter settings with the recording.

Changing the display does not create missing measurement detail. The acquisition must be suitable for the event being investigated.
