Interpreting the evidence

Preserve the complete report and distinguish the code itself from its status. Compare reports made under the same conditions, especially before and after clearing memory. This gives a clearer picture of whether the fault was observed again or merely remained in the record.

Keep this evidence

Send the full status text, timestamps and the circumstances of each scan.

A historical status does not prove that the underlying fault can never recur. It needs to be considered with the customer’s symptom.
