A charging problem following use of an extension lead should be reported with the equipment history. Compatibility and permitted arrangements are determined by the charging equipment’s instructions; an ordinary socket connection does not make every extension suitable.
Stop experimenting with adapters
Do not chain leads or adapters to restore operation. If there is heat damage, a smell or a protective trip, stop and arrange appropriate assessment. Record the connector and charger details without opening live equipment.
Tell the charging provider and workshop what was used and what warning followed. A fault in external equipment may need an electrician or equipment repair route, while vehicle warnings need automotive evaluation. Preserve the history rather than presenting the event as an unexplained onboard-charger failure.
