Fault-code directory · ECU and electrical assessment
A silent pump during a no-start does not prove that the pump has failed. The controller may not be requesting it, the power stage may lack a supply, or another system may be preventing normal operation. Establish which part of the pump-control chain is missing.
Codes covered
P025A · P025B · P025C · P025D · P0627 · P0628 · P0629
P025A–P025D concern fuel-pump module control, while P0627–P0629 concern the pump A control circuit. Different vehicles use different arrangements, including a relay or a separate electronic pump controller. The code does not establish which arrangement is fitted.

Evidence that helps narrow the fault
- Keep the whole-vehicle scan, starting authorisation state and engine-speed reading during cranking. A missing enabling condition can explain why a healthy pump is not commanded.
- Check the pump controller’s supply and ground under an appropriate load. A voltage reading with the circuit idle can miss a poor connection.
- Compare command, electrical response and available fuel-pressure evidence. Record whether the fault is permanent or follows temperature, vibration or time parked.
Choosing the next repair step
The diagnosis should distinguish an unavailable command, a failed controller output, an overloaded pump and a pressure-delivery problem. Sending only the engine ECU may not help if a separate pump controller or harness is responsible. Confirm the likely faulty unit and the test scope before arranging postal assessment.
Can the relay or pump controller be bypassed to keep driving?
A bypass can defeat intended control and protection. It is not an appropriate repair. Arrange diagnosis or recovery when the vehicle cannot operate reliably.
Talk through the fault with AXION
Send the make, model, year, full scan report and a short description of when the fault happens. Include recent repairs or programming attempts. If you do not have a scan, describe the symptoms in your own words.
Workshop assessments are arranged by appointment in Didcot, Oxfordshire. UK-wide postal module testing and remote support are available for suitable work after compatibility and scope are agreed. Please contact us before removing or posting a module.
