ISO-TP flow-control timeouts during a module data read

A sender may wait for flow-control information before continuing a multi-frame transfer. If that response is missing, the transfer can stop despite other CAN traffic remaining healthy.

How to narrow it down

Review the capture on the correct diagnostic identifiers and check the receiving tool’s configuration. Preserve interface and application logs so a transport timeout can be distinguished from a vehicle supply interruption. The location of the missing exchange matters more than the generic timeout label.

What to include with the fault report

Include the tool version, adapter details and a capture starting before the request.

Do not alter vehicle software to compensate for an unverified tool configuration. Establish the communication fault first.

Speak to AXION

For CAN-bus and vehicle-network diagnostics, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
