A transport overflow indication concerns the receiver’s ability to accept the announced message. It is not the same as a vehicle engine, gearbox or battery fault code.
Interpreting the evidence
Compare the announced message length with the supported transport and application configuration. Check that the vehicle profile and request are appropriate. An incorrect or unsupported read request should be considered before assuming physical memory damage in the ECU.
Keep this evidence
Provide the request, initial reply and transport error text.
Do not interpret protocol overflow as proof that an ECU’s stored memory is full. Those are different concepts.
