A windscreen leak can affect more than the area where water is first visible. If electronic symptoms follow water entry, record the leak history and all functions affected. A dry surface later does not establish that connectors or hidden areas were never exposed.
Address water entry and electronics together
Tell the workshop when the glass was fitted or repaired, where dampness was noticed and whether the fault changes with rain. Photographs of accessible wet areas can help. Do not remove airbag trim or energise visibly wet equipment for testing.
Repairing a controller without resolving the leak can leave the vehicle vulnerable to another failure. Ask who will assess the entry path and which vehicle-side checks are needed alongside module work. Preserve original parts and scans. If the vehicle shows serious warnings or unreliable operation, discuss recovery. A full history is more useful than identifying a BCM or gateway from an online photograph and sending it without diagnosis.
