Preserve the incident details
State which connections were made, approximately how long they remained connected and what happened immediately afterwards. Include any smoke, smell or blown protection identified by a qualified technician. Do not continue making start attempts if damage or heating is suspected.
The vehicle needs an appropriate electrical assessment before module selection. A specialist should know which supplies and connected systems have been checked and whether the suspected unit communicates. Never replace a protective device with a higher rating to restore power. Keep original modules and any removed parts available. A bench finding must be considered alongside the vehicle-side condition before repaired electronics are reconnected and the job is declared complete.
