A dark charge-port light needs to be compared with the vehicle display and actual charging response. The lamp, port movement and charging permission are separate functions; a failed indicator does not automatically mean the charging electronics are inoperative.
Describe the whole response
Record whether the vehicle recognises a connected cable and whether charging begins on suitable equipment. Check the manual’s expected light behaviour, including when the indication normally turns off. Avoid probing or placing objects inside the inlet.
If charging also fails, include its message and station log. If only the lamp is affected, report that narrower symptom. The workshop can then identify the local indicator circuit and relevant controls without assuming that an expensive charger or battery assembly needs replacement.
