Repeated start-button presses can conceal the original sequence. Establish whether the vehicle recognises each request, changes ignition state or displays a missing-condition message.
Keep inputs separate
Note brake or clutch operation, key recognition and selector position. Follow the owner’s normal starting procedure and record the first failed response while stationary. Mention recent switch, pedal or security-module work.
Do not bypass an interlock or replace the button solely because pressing it again eventually works. The workshop should identify whether the request is received and which permission is absent. A complete description helps distinguish a local switch fault from another system preventing starting, including conditions that disappear before a later scan is taken.
