A trim piece in front of a radar is part of the sensor’s operating environment. Appearance and physical fit do not establish suitability for that function.
Verify the fitted part
Keep the original and replacement identities and the supplier’s application information. Report warnings or changed behaviour after installation. Do not add badges, films or paint to a sensor area without confirming the vehicle requirements.
A workshop should assess compatibility and any required checks using manufacturer information. Calibration is not a universal remedy for an unsuitable cover or mounting. Until assessed, follow the vehicle’s guidance and do not rely on affected assistance features. The repair record should state what was fitted and how correct operation was verified.
