A useful remote session starts before the laptop is connected. Tell us what you want to achieve and what has already happened to the vehicle. “Needs coding” can mean a replacement module, an incomplete repair or a warning that still needs diagnosis.
Send the job details first
- Make, model, year and the exact task requested.
- A complete diagnostic scan and the wording of any failed procedure.
- Original and replacement module labels, with software identification where available.
- Previous repairs, coding attempts and known software modifications.
Check the connection and equipment
Give AXION the exact diagnostic-interface model and software setup. Volkswagen specifies supported VAS interfaces or validated compatible PassThru equipment; a J2534 label alone does not establish that every interface will work. We confirm the arrangement for the proposed job before the appointment.
Prepare a reliable internet connection, a mains-powered laptop and suitable vehicle power support. Tell us about sleep settings, connection problems or a battery that cannot maintain its condition. Do not start a programming attempt while these issues remain unresolved.
Keep someone with the vehicle
A competent person must be available for the physical checks and instructions. Clear a suitable workspace and keep the vehicle available for the agreed time. Remote access is by arrangement and consent; do not post passwords or unattended-access details in public comments.
At the end, retain the session outcome and any follow-up instructions with the job record. If the findings point to wiring, a defective component or another physical problem, arrange that work before treating the vehicle as repaired.
Ask AXION about the next step
Our ODIS online programming and VAG coding service includes remote technician sessions at £100 per hour for agreed, supported tasks. Send the details before booking. We confirm suitability, expected time and any additional costs before work starts.
