CAN FD length coding does not use every larger byte count in a simple one-step sequence. Decoder configuration matters when reviewing a trace.
Interpreting the evidence
If a report claims bytes are missing, preserve the original recording and confirm which frame format the software selected. Compare the displayed length with the actual captured frame before blaming the controller. Screenshots alone may hide the settings that produced the interpretation.
Keep this evidence
Keep the raw capture, decoder version and the selected Classical CAN or CAN FD mode.
A display-format problem and corrupted vehicle traffic require different action. Do not modify module software solely to make it match an assumed decoder layout.
Speak to AXION
For CAN-bus and vehicle-network diagnostics, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
