Time-domain reflectometry can estimate where a cable discontinuity lies. The result is an electrical estimate, not a photograph of the damaged connector.
What to check next
Compare the reported distance with the actual harness route and the test conditions. Ask whether adapters or connected equipment were included. A short estimate near the tester may direct inspection differently from one near the far end, but the physical evidence still needs checking.
Useful information for an enquiry
Retain the test equipment, connection point, reported fault type and distance.
Use only a test procedure suitable for the installed electronics. A distance estimate alone is not enough to authorise opening an unrelated section of the harness.
